Eureka’s OnePASS® drying system. Clean and dry in a single pass

Clean floors, immediately ready for foot traffic.

The word itself says it: floor scrubber DRYER.
Professional floor cleaning machines of this type are also simply known as floor scrubbers, but, at least at the industrial level, the expression floor scrubber dryer identifies this category much better.

In fact, a cleaning machine is expected to leave floors clean and dry, so the surface can be walked on immediately after cleaning.

The efficient management of the drying phase is therefore just as important as the scrubbing phase.

Cleaning a large floor area only with a mop is certainly possible, but its not cost effective (as it requires time) and it isn’t recommended in terms of hygiene (as a mop doesn’t guarantee perfect drying, and after an initial moment of efficiency, it remains steeped in dirt until it is next rinsed in the bucket, if not until the end of cleaning operations). It’s a better idea to choose a high performing scrubber dryer which is designed to thoroughly wash floors and deliver excellent drying.

A floor scrubber dryer: the most effective solution to dry floors immediately after washing.

Increasingly popular on the market, floor scrubber dryers are professional cleaning machines which guarantee high standards of scrubbing and complete drying, in a single pass.

How does a scrubber dryer guarantee excellent drying results after the floor has been washed?

These machines generally rely on three factors to ensure perfect drying:

Vacuum motor

The vacuum motors of a good scrubber dryer must be powerful, reliable, and resistant to both water and the foam which can form inside the solution tank with certain chemicals. Special baskets and filters, which Eureka produces in stainless steel, retain both coarse debris and fine particles, adding to the protection of the vacuum motor.

Squeegee blades

The squeegee blades are the point of contact between the machine and the floor. They must be resistant to wear, but also sufficiently soft and elastic to guarantee good adhesion to the ground. The best blades do not develop a memory (their characteristics remain unaltered over time), and they are reversible so that they can be used on all four edges before having to be changed.

Squeegee structure

The squeegee defines the shape and dimensions of the vacuum chamber, the exact surface area from which water is removed. The squeegee must be robust, as it is one of the most exposed elements of a scrubber dryer, it should also effortlessly follow the movement of the machine especially during turns or when working along edges, to avoid water escaping during drying. The squeegee is constantly in contact with dirt and detergents and therefore needs to be resistant to corrosion. Its structure is responsible for the pressure exerted on the squeegee blades, which significantly affects overall drying results. The availability of the right regulation devices allows a squeegee to be quickly adjusted to effectively respond to every type of floor.

Eureka’s OnePASS® drying system

The OnePASS® drying system for Eureka scrubber dryers, is a combination of all the elements which make it possible to obtain excellent drying results. Only the balanced combination of high-quality components guarantees the best cleaning results. For this reason, Eureka’s drying solutions always include:

  • One or more vacuum motors, perfectly calibrated according to the specifics of each machine;
  • Squeegee blades in Linatex® or OLIRES®, the best materials on the market, extensively tested in every application and recommended, in one version or the other, according to the specific context of use;
  • Squeegees designed with attention to detail, which have evolved from an original Eureka design.

Their characteristic parabolic form (in the shape of a crescent moon) facilitates complete water pick up. To make drying possible when working along edges and during turns, the squeegee has a special system which permits lateral oscillation, ensuring that the squeegee follows every movement of the machine smoothly and precisely even when working near objects. Eureka’s professional squeegees furthermore have a mechanism for the quick substitution of worn blades, which eliminates the need for tools when rotating the blades to use all 4 edges. Realized in thick steel, Eureka’s squeegees are also available in stainless steel (as standard or as an optional, depending on the scrubber dryer model), providing complete resistance to corrosive agents. For increased safety, the squeegee is fitted with an emergency uncoupling mechanism, which activates on impact. For some scrubber dryer models, the Swinguard® patent is available, preventing involuntary uncoupling of the squeegee due to protruding obstacles.
