Engine-driven sweepers

When and why to choose an Eureka engine-driven sweeper?

What exactly is an engine-driven sweeper? Generally speaking, engine-driven sweepers are industrial sweepers powered by an internal combustion engine. These machines may use various fuels (petrol, diesel, LPG, etc.). Given the high power and reliability of their engines, they are ideal for sweeping medium to large open spaces. All internal combustion engine sweepers require certain systems to operate, such as a starting system, fuel system, cooling system and exhaust system. In more advanced sweepers, the engine often drives the various machine functions through a hydraulic system. These systems are simpler, more efficient and lower-maintenance than solutions that use pulleys and belts.

Eureka engine-driven sweepers

All Eureka engine-driven sweepers, with the exception of the smallest models, are available with a choice of combustion engines that are ideal for cleaning yards, carparks, paths, outdoor storage facilities, construction sites and other open or well-ventilated spaces.

The Kobra walk-behind sweeper and the Rider 1201 compact ride-on sweeper are extremely versatile and efficient machines powered by Honda petrol engines. The Xtrema and Magnum, Eureka’s largest industrial sweepers, are equipped with Kubota diesel or petrol engines.

The engines are world-class in both cases and boast the highest possible quality. Worldwide service networks are available too, if needed.

The Magnum sweeper is also available in a hybrid version powered by a petrol and LPG-fuelled engine. LPG is a cheaper and more environmentally friendly fuel and in many countries can also be used for cleaning indoor areas. This offers a huge advantage in autonomy compared to battery-powered machines and eliminates the need for recharging. Changing an LPG cylinder takes just a few minutes. An LPG-fuelled sweeper can therefore be considered a non-stop cleaning solution.

Unique features

Diesel, petrol, and LPG/petrol.

Eureka offers internal combustion engines in three different types: diesel, petrol, and bi-fuel LPG/petrol.

Honda and Kubota engines

All engines are from Honda or Kubota, manufacturers that guarantee high quality and have a widespread global presence.

Extended operational autonomy

Sweepers with internal combustion engines offer extended operational autonomy and require only a few minutes for refueling. They are the ideal solution for cleaning large outdoor areas and locations with limited access to electrical connections.
