Sweepers

Industrial sweepers: ride-on sweepers and manual sweepers.

An industrial floor sweeper is a wheeled machine for removing debris, coarse dirt and dust from the floor. By the action of rotating brushes, or by the combined action of one or more brushes and a vacuum system, a sweeper removes dry dirt and debris from the floor and collects it in a dedicated on-board debris hopper. Sweepers for professional use can be classified in various ways.

  • The first distinction concerns the width of the cleaning path. Multiplied by forward speed, this parameter determines the machine’s productivity, i.e. the number of square metres of floor it can clean in one hour.
  • Another way to classify sweepers is to divide them into walk-behind machines (which, as their name suggests, require the operator to walk behind them), and ride-on machines, which are driven much like cars.
  • Traction systems vary too: some sweepers are fully manual (i.e, have to be pushed by the operator) while others are electrically powered (these are ideal for use in enclosed spaces), or driven by petrol, diesel or LPG engines.
  • Then there are sweepers on which certain functions can be operated manually, electronically or hydraulically. The most important of these functions are side brushes, auxiliary vacuum systems and ground-level or high dump emptying systems.
  • Road sweepers and sweeper-scrubbers are separate categories of machine. The former are subject to normal traffic regulations and must be approved for operation on public roads. The latter are used mainly for the regular cleaning of dusty rather than dirty environments. These machines combine the main characteristics of a floor sweeper with those of a scrubber-dryer.

Discover the Eureka range of professional sweepers

The complete range consists of 8 models, from the compact and environmentally friendly Picobello to the Bull 200 ride-on machine for large areas..

In all, Eureka produces over 15 industrial sweeper versions, offering productivity rates of up to 30,000 m2/hour. Our wide range of industrial sweepers, both manual and powered, meets the cleaning needs of all types of application.

Industrial sweepers: main categories

Walk-behind sweepers

The operator pushes the machine (in the case of a manual sweeper) or controls its movement by means of a traction control lever (on automatic models). Walk-behind sweepers are economical, easy to use and simple to maintain. Walk-behind sweepers are also easy to manoeuvre in tight spaces. They are usually recommended for cleaning areas of up to 4,000-5,000 square metres.

Ride-on sweepers

These are larger machines and are driven by an operator sitting on board. They have wider cleaning paths, travel faster and are equipped with larger debris hoppers. Ride-on sweepers (Eureka’s largest is the Bull 200) are typically recommended for cleaning large floors of over 4,000-5,000 m².

Unique features

EFFICIENCY

Whether it’s removing fine dust or coarse debris, Eureka sweepers are designed to leave a clean surface on the first pass, in any situation. Additionally, the special Multipocket filter ensures perfect air filtration even at maximum operating speed.

DURABILITY

Selected components and in-house forged heavy-duty frames, treated with a nine-stage painting process, including cataphoresis, give Eureka sweepers the structural stability needed to maintain consistent cleaning performance over time. For the most challenging industrial environments, the Total Steel versions offer machines with steel plating on all four sides of the bodywork.

EASY OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE

Eureka cleaning machines are ergonomically designed for easy and fatigue-free use by the operator. Internal components are easy to reach too, ensuring quick and easy maintenance.
