Public and corporate green areas

Professional sweepers are a valuable tool for cleaning green areas of all kinds.

Professional sweepers are a valuable tool for cleaning green areas of all kinds: playgrounds, pedestrian and cycle paths, urban parks, corporate and public green spaces, neighbourhood gardens, public sports areas, event and social venues. A sweeper effectively complements the essential lawn and park maintenance undertaken by gardeners, quickly clearing paved areas of fallen leaves, grass clippings, rubbish and dirt in general.

A ride-on or walk-behind sweeper, selected to suit the size of the area to be cleaned and other such requirements, allows ordinary and extraordinary maintenance of paths, pavements and cycle lanes, anti-trauma flooring, multi-purpose sports fields, car parks and squares to be carried out quickly and easily. Such spaces are the most frequently used in green areas as they are accessible to pedestrians, cyclists, wheelchair users and vehicles. It is therefore particularly important to keep these areas clean in order to convey a sense of well-being and safety to users.

Why use a sweeper for cleaning equipped public green areas?

People not infrequently stop using even semi-new amenities and facilities because they are poorly maintained. This represents a significant loss since the investment needed for the initial installation is often considerable, while regular maintenance costs are relatively low.

With good planning and the right equipment, cleaning becomes a quick and inexpensive operation, and is highly effective in keeping green areas of all kinds hygienic, usable and welcoming. Depending on model, sweepers can clean all kinds of surface rapidly, accurately and easily.

  • 100 metres of pavement (of 1 metre in width, say) can be swept in a matter of minutes with the Picobello push sweeper.
  • A multi-purpose sports hall (e.g. a 500 square metre volleyball and basketball hall) can be cleaned in less than 10 minutes using a Rider Lift sweeper, which offers all the convenience of a ride-on machine and hydraulic debris hopper emptying.
  • A large sweeper like the Bull 200 can clean up to 30,000 square metres an hour and is perfect for car parks and cycle paths, thanks also to the presence of an on-board waste compaction system that is ideal for collecting light and bulky dirt like leaves in autumn.

Different models of sweeper have different specifications, making them more suitable for use in one context rather than another, but they all share the ability to sweep and collect quickly and effectively the types of dirt most commonly found in parks and other places dedicated to nature and outdoor life. These machines are therefore perfect for limiting the natural spread of soil, sand, gravel and leaves caused by wind and rain, and for combating man-made litter by collecting cigarette ends, paper handkerchiefs, plastic bottles, cans, and paper wrappers, etc.

Why choose a Eureka sweeper for cleaning green areas?

Here are some of the features that make Eureka sweepers particularly suitable for cleaning hard surfaces in parks and green areas of all kinds.

  • A wide range of ride-on and walk-behind sweepers to suit areas of different sizes and specific dirt collection requirements.
  • MultiBristle brushes and powerful suction systems to collect in a single pass dust and dirt of different weights and sizes, such as the sand, leaves, cigarette ends, dirt and twigs commonly found in parks and green areas.
  • High-efficiency MultiPocket filters and dust control systems to allow sweepers to operate in the presence of people.
  • A choice of electrically powered machines offering silent operation and zero emissions for use in green spaces that generate fresh air, encourage biodiversity and stimulate people’s well-being.
  • Minimal maintenance requirements thanks to systems that allow even large debris hoppers to be emptied with ease and brushes and other consumables to be replaced without tools.
  • Ergonomic design to prevent operator fatigue and to ensure ease of use and maximum safety.
  • BULLsystem and LoadBooster technologies (on the BULL200 industrial sweeper) for the effortless collection and effective compacting of large quantities of leaves and light bulky dirt, making work faster and eliminating unnecessary trips and downtime for waste disposal.

What advantages does a sweeper offer compared to a leaf blower?

A blower only moves leaves and light debris, while a sweeper removes and collects dust, leaves and debris of all weights.

In particular:

  • A sweeper picks up the dirt from the ground as it sweeps it, providing instant cleanliness in just one pass. Dirt moved into one place with a blower still needs to be picked up by hand.
  • A good industrial sweeper incorporates top-quality filters and other dust control systems to allow cleaning to be carried out without disturbing people. Eureka fits high-efficiency, anti-static, anti-clogging and washable Multipocket filters as standard. With a blower, on the other hand, clouds of dust are raised as the dirt is moved. This is breathed in by operators and park users and is deposited again on the ground and on objects nearby like tables, benches, etc.
  • A sweeper allows even large areas to be cleaned quickly. The most productive Eureka sweeper, the BULL 200, can clean 30,000 square metres in one hour. Though useful for cleaning in hidden recesses, a blower performs poorly in large open spaces.
