Protect the environment with Eureka Zero Emission scrubber dryers

When it comes to scrubber dryers, the most common are electric-powered. The machines are mainly created for indoor usage and being "zero emissions" (like all Eureka’s scrubber dryers) is not simply value adding but an indispensable feature aimed to protect the operators’ and other people’s health and the safety in the workplace.

Electric-powered machines are divided into corded and battery powered machines. Among the latter, the cleaning machines powered by lithium batteries have unique features. Let's look at the features and benefits.

Floor scrubbers: which one?

Corded floor scrubbers

As it isn’t necessary to stop cleaning operations to recharge, corded scrubber dryers are "always ready to use" and suitable for prolonged use (even if fragmented) throughout the day. The range of these machines is linked to the proximity of power sockets and obviously limited by the maximum extension of the cable. The cable itself requires attention so that it doesn’t get caught on edges and objects, and so that it doesn’t dirty previously cleaned areas. Corded scrubber dryers are normally lighter and cheaper than the battery-powered versions; they are available in walk-behind models and have a medium-small cleaning path.

Battery-powered floor scrubbers

Unlike the corded versions, battery-powered machines are more manageable and practical to use, especially in confined spaces, or when needed to clean separate floor sections or large areas with limited access to sockets. Obviously, the battery must be charged to ensure that the machines are always operational, but the convenient on-board charger allows recharging wherever a socket is available.

Lithium battery-powered scrubber dryers

Lithium-ion batteries are revolutionising the industry of scrubber dryers. When it comes to life cycle, charging time, the "booster charging" effect (with lithium technology, partial recharges do not cause damage to the batteries), weight, operating autonomy, maintenance and so on, they offer a much higher performance than any other battery.

Although the use of lithium-ion batteries is not yet widespread, several companies are already starting to believe in this technology. Moreover, in the automotive industry, which is more developed than the cleaning industry, lithium batteries have been used for the past 20 years and are increasingly common.

The E36 scrubber dryer, the smallest and most manageable machine from Eureka, has already been available with lithium batteries for at least three years, guaranteeing exceptional work performance.
